Foxconn has decided to leave behind the bad press from suicides, explosions, brutal working hours and delays in Apple products, in favour of talking up their increasing reliance on robots. But what will the future nuts and bolts workers churn out at Foxconn? Nope, not the next generation iPhone, but one of the most breathtaking iPhone rivals, the Android powered Xiaomi smartphone.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun lifted the curtains on the wonderful Xiaomi smartphone, Foxconn’s first-ever smartphone launched under its own brand. The Xiaomi smartphone will offer consumers a choice between 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz dual core processors. It will also have a 4-inch super LCD screen and a resolution of 854×480 pixels. It runs the gorgeous-looking MIUI ROM for Android. The other important details such as memory, flash storage and 3G functionality have not been announced yet.
